The Bank has provided 75% of the total crop loan issued by all banks together in the district, 80% of the Agricultural loans have been given to small and marginal Farmers including Patta Holders and Bargadars. With the help of District Rural Development Authority and Panchayet functionaries this bank has played an important role in converting about 55,000 acres of land from single crop area to multiple ones by advancing finance for installation of 3849 nos. of Mini Deep tube wells in this district.
Burdwan Central CoOperative Bank is the first bank of the Eastern Region of our country in the Cooperative Sector to introduce Kishan Credit Cards to Farmers in June, 1999. Unrill now 1,72,218 Kishan Credit Cards have been issued to farmers of the Burdwan district, the collection of Agricultural loan alone was 98.15% in the year 2006-07. Last year’s collection percentage of agricultural loan even after declaration of ADWDR scheme, 2008, was 65.05%.
Special audit of 514 societies for implementation of the Revival Package for STCCS have been completed. The assistance amount of Rs. 42,48,99,537/= only consisting of :
- GOI’s share of Rs. 35,39,33,103/=,
- State Government’s share of Rs. 5,12,20,783/= and
- C.C.S.’s of Rs. 1,97,45,651/=
- has been passed in the D.L.I.C. meeting dated 23.05.2008.

The claim for GOI and State Government’s share of Rs. 40,51,53,886/= has been submitted to the NABARD’s Kolkata Regional Office.
The Agricultural Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme, 2008, has been successfully implemented by the bank in 506 running PACSs of the district, 70779 small and marginal farmers and 266 other farmers have been benefited by implementation of the scheme, Lists of beneficiaries have been audited by auditors of cooperative societies.
Total claim of Rs. 63,12,55,134/- has been submitted to NABARD through The West Bengal State Cooperative Bank Ltd. on 13.09.2008.
